Do you see each day as a gift from God? Every day is a fresh start and your morning sets the trajectory for the day. Mornings are an opportunity to center our lives upon God.

Reading and reflecting upon God’s word establishes our moral compass and helps us to successfully navigate the day. It’s important that we not only exercise our mind, but also our body. John Ratey calls exercise “miracle grow for the brain.” See How to experience your BEST morning.

Our work day parallels the career part of our lives. My job involves meeting with people who are going through some deep valleys. I rely on the prophet’s words to guide me in my work,

The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. (Isaiah 50:4)

As a CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer), I seek to loosen the burdensome chains on weary souls. At the end of the day, I come home tired, but it’s a good tired. This represents the later years of our lives – we don’t have the energy we had at the beginning of our day. In a few hours I’ll go to bed and my day will end.

What if this were my last day? Did I live this day to the best of my ability? I don’t fight bedtime, I prepare myself so that I can sleep well. Someday, this will be the my last day – the Apostle Paul gives us the proper perspective on life and death,

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

If God grants me another day, I wake up with gratitude, thanking Him for the gift of another day.
