As we enter into Holy week, our sermon looked at the sacrifice of Jesus from Hebrews 12:1-3:

1. We must expect adversity, but we can also learn and benefit from challenges.
2. You can live in victory as you keep your eyes on Jesus.
3. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (Hebrews 12:1)
4. “Life is difficult.” Scott Peck
5. “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” Haruki Marakumi
6. In one sense every sin we commit has at its root the sin of unbelief.
7. fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
8. “If I hadn’t looked back, I would have won!” John Landy
9. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3)
10. “My country did not send me to Mexico City to start the race. They sent me here to finish.” John Akhwari
