The great Commission is not an option to considered, but a command to be obeyed.
Hudson Taylor

Put on your sanctified imagination and imagine that Jesus has returned to heaven after finishing the work of redemption by paying the price for the sin of mankind. The angels welcome Him and ask Him, “Now who will tell the world?” Jesus replies “I’ve left my message with my disciples.” The angels look somewhat bewildered and reply “Do you mean the eleven guys who abandoned you in your time of need?” “Yes,” Jesus replies. The angels reply, “Uhmm, Lord do you have a plan B?” Jesus responds, “There is no plan B.” Jesus left the task of world evangelization to His disciples and ultimately to us! You are a link in the chain to continue our Lord’s work. How are you fulfilling your role in carrying out the great commission?

In the passage below, the main verb is “make disciples.” Grammatically it conveys the idea to do it at once. This is not the great suggestion, it is the great commission,

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

As you consider your responsibility regarding this verse, you can be a goer, you can be a sender, or you can be disobedient. Which category are you in? God is inviting you to participate in His glorious plan for the salvation of the world. He has promised you His presence. Will you join Him in the tremendous privilege of making disciples?
