The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of the nonessentials.
Lin Yutanc

Our American culture has a tendency to get bogged down in the nonessentials. We have many good things, but are we missing the best? Could it be that the secret to contentment is found in not gaining more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less? Contentment isn’t getting what we want but being satisfied with what we have. The Apostle Paul gives us a helpful perspective,

But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. (1 Timothy 6:6-8)
