To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.
Winston Churchill

Don’t miss your miracle! God has great things He wants to do in and through you. A good friend recently gave me Andrew Robert’s definitive biography on Winston Churchill. This book is a tour de force on one of our greatest leaders of the 20th century. Churchill was the man who led the fight to save western civilization from the evils of Nazism.

Our current culture wars reveal that we are in a war of ideas as we battle victimhood mentality that leads to indentity politics and infighting. The story is told about Benjamin Franklin as he was exiting Independence Hall after the Constitutional Convention in 1787, when a woman asked him, “Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?” To which Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

That is the question before us today – can we keep the republic and the cherished ideals of our forefathers? They bravely concluded the Declaration of Independence with these solemn words, “We pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”

It is no accident that you are alive at this strategic moment in history. Are you ready for what may be your finest hour? Benjamin Disraeli wisely observed, “The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.”

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
