We are continuing our Christmas series. We have spoken on hope, peace, and today our topic was joy as we looked at Luke 2:10:

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”

  1. You can experience a life of great joy as you appropriate the good news.
  2. You do not need to live in fear – 366 times we read in the Bible not to be afraid.
  3. When you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else. Oswald Chambers
  4. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:11)
  5. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:11)
  6. You wouldn’t worry about what people think of you if you knew how seldom they do.
  7. We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.
  8. Some people amass possessions seeking to fill the emptiness within. First, you own your possessions, then your possessions own you.
  9. Joy is independent of our external circumstances, but is based upon a deep and abiding relationship with God.
  10. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)
