We are continuing our Christmas series. We have spoken on hope, peace, and today our topic was joy as we looked at Luke 2:10:
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
- You can experience a life of great joy as you appropriate the good news.
- You do not need to live in fear – 366 times we read in the Bible not to be afraid.
- When you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else. Oswald Chambers
- You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:11)
- I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:11)
- You wouldn’t worry about what people think of you if you knew how seldom they do.
- We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.
- Some people amass possessions seeking to fill the emptiness within. First, you own your possessions, then your possessions own you.
- Joy is independent of our external circumstances, but is based upon a deep and abiding relationship with God.
- Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)
