sunrise_over_the_oceanI took an early morning run along the beach and had the joy of watching the sunrise.  The faint pink glow gave rise to the red sun slowly inching across the horizon.  I thought of the Psalmist’s declaration,

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.  (Psalm 19:1)

I love the start of a new day, so many opportunities before us.  Each day is filled with enough memories to last a life time.  Alice Morse Earle wisely observes, “The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.”

How are you spending this precious gift called the present?  May you make each day count for eternity.
