You could be good today, but instead you choose tomorrow.
Marcus Aurelius
Why do we often seem to waiting for tomorrow rather than living life to the full today? Sometimes we’re waiting for the right circumstances. Circumstances are rarely what we want them to be. Søren Kierkegaard observed, “To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. Not to dare is to lose oneself.” The mountain you want to climb doesn’t get any smaller if you wait – start now with what you have. Thoreau wrote, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”
Jesus told His disciples that we have a brief period of time in which we can work. Are you truly living each day or simply existing?
We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. (John 9:4)
