You don’t stop running because you get old, you get old because you stop running.
Christopher McDougall

I’m currently reading Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen. McDougall describes the prowess of the legendary Tarahumara of Mexico. Why are they such phenomenal runners? They did not lose the natural form that a young child exhibits and they ran for the love of running, “That was the real secret of the Tarahumara: they’d never forgotten what it felt like to love running. They remembered that running was mankind’s first fine art, our original act of inspired creation.”

Mankind has a tendency to complicate what God wants to make simple. Let us not lose sight of the simple joys of life – such as an easy run through God’s creation and the joy of being saved:

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. (Psalm 51:12)
