We live in a society that looks for the quick fix or the easy hack. Amy Carmichael is correct, there is no short-cut to holiness. As you invest time with God you will find that small deposits made consistently over time have a cumulative effect. We must realize that discipline is the pathway to freedom.

But stay away from worthless stories that are typical of old women. Rather, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness (1 Timothy 4:7)
