Time in nature is transformational. It can be healing. It can reveal who we are. It can show us who we’re capable of becoming. It can foster community with one another. It can make us appreciate the comforts of home. It can draw us closer to God.

This past weekend 29 intrepid souls camped in the Shining Rock Wilderness area of the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. We braved 30+ mile per hour winds and cold temperatures. After the cold front passed, we were rewarded with beautiful weather and great adventures. Here are a few of my pictures:

The climb was more than expected – taking a rest
I had the McLeod watch to ensure our fantastic youth pastor came back safe and sound

It’s amazing how a change of place and a change of pace can give us a change of perspective. May you take time to experience the joy of adventure.

Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” (Luke 5:4)

What great step of faith is God asking of you? Don’t miss the joy of experiencing a great adventure!
