Our sermon at LifePark focused on God’s advice to Joshua as he was preparing to enter the promised land,

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. (Joshua 1:8)

  1. Few leaders finish well.
  2. If you’re not dead – He’s not done with you.
  3. The Bible’s description of success is fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.
  4. What dominates your thoughts – is it your fears or faith in God’s promises?
  5. Don’t try to be someone else, be the person God created you to be.
  6. Let God’s word guide your way.
  7. History teaches us is that we learn very little from history.
  8. Reading the Bible without meditating on it is like eating without chewing. Are you reading the Bible carefully or casually?
  9. Billy Sunday reminds us, “Stopping at third adds no more to the score than striking out. It doesn’t matter how well you start if you fail to finish.”
  10. You are responsible for the depth of your life – God will take care of the breadth of your life.
