Today we looked at Genesis 3 and saw how God reached down to mankind and brought hope after the fall. Genesis 1-2 showed how God brought order and life and Genesis 3 revealed how satan brought chaos and death. Here’s highlights from today’s sermon,
1. God is able to heal what the enemy came to steal.
2. I don’t understand how a black cow can eat green grass and give white milk, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying ice cream! Vance Havner
3. Why is it during a time of doubt, that we give more weight to our doubts than to our beliefs? Why don’t we doubt our doubts?
4. You have gained more in Christ, than Adam lost in the garden.
5. When God asks a question it’s for your benefit, not His.
6. Guilt indicates that you’ve done wrong whereas shame indicates that you are unworthy of love – even God’s love.
7. Sin brings separation: Theological, Sociological, Psychological.
8. Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
9. God brings restoration, no sin is too big for God.
10. We see that the will of God was resisted, the word of God was rejected, and the way of God was relinquished.
