People have a tendency to overestimate what they can do in the short-term, and underestimate what they can do in the long-term.
As you start the new year, don’t let short-term set backs discourage you from pursuing your big, hairy, audacious goals. Small investments made consistently over time have a cumulative effect. The Apostle Paul revealed that your greatest goal is knowing the fullness of Christ your life.
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
