We have the misperception that freedom is the opportunity to do whatever we wish. True freedom is not licentiousness, but the ability to do what we ought to do. This includes the ability to do what we need to do and the ability to not do what we should not do.
So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin. (James 4:17)
