You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.
Beverly Sills
As we enter a new year we have the opportunity for a fresh start – a tabula rasa of new experiences. What’s preventing you from trying something new? For many people it’s fear.
H. Jackson Brown, Jr. reminds us, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So cast off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
What great work does God have for you this year? Let the words of Isaiah challenge us not to get stuck in the past, but to trust God to do something new:
“Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19)
