Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.
Thomas à Kempis
The Imitation of Christ is a classic devotional by Thomas à Kempis that calls us to a deeper walk with God. Our tendency to find fault with others may highlight the frustration that we have in dealing our own faults. Rather than criticize others, Jesus encouraged us take care of our own lives so that we can be of assistance to others.
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:5)
