When written in Chinese, the word “crisis” is composed of two characters — one represents danger and one represents opportunity.
We are currently living in a time of crisis. We must respect the danger, but not give in to fear. We must also realize that there is an opportunity before us. What is the opportunity before you in this crisis? Perhaps it’s an opportunity to learn what’s really important in life. Perhaps it’s an opportunity to draw closer to God. The Psalmist cried out to God in his time of crisis and gained a fresh perspective of God:
The righteous cry, and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken. (Psalm 34:17-20)
