The pain of discipline costs far less than the pain of regret.
Wayne Cordeiro
Cordeiro points out in The Divine Mentor that wisdom teaches us the lesson before we make the mistake, whereas consequences demand that you make the mistake first. Wisdom erects a fence at the top of the cliff and consequences builds a hospital at the bottom of the cliff.
Cordeiro states, “If Consequences has a back-end price, Wisdom has a front-end price. It requires discipline, obedience, consistency, and above all else, time.”
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. (Hebrews 12:11)
