There’s a reason why we like to stay in our comfort zone, it’s easy to stay there. If you’re going to make a difference however, it will involve stepping out of your comfort zone. The Apostle Paul gives us an interesting word picture as he describes his life. The word translated “discipline” in the verse below literally means to strike under the eye, and implies that he is willing to be beat black and blue in order to win the prize. Are you choosing courage or comfort?
but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:27)
