So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” (2 Kings 6:16)

Are you seeing with spiritual eyes? We will encounter situations that seem so overwhelming that we may lose sight of God. That was how Elisha’s servant felt when he and Elisha were surrounded by a hostile army. His servant was so focused on the problem that he lost sight of God and His resources. If God is not in our thinking, then we can be influenced by a host of fears. Elisha clarified the situation for his servant as he prayed that God would give him spiritual eyes to see beyond the problem,

“Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” (2 Kings 6:17)

Fear can be expressed by the following acronym,

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

May God open our eyes to see God’s resources available to us in the midst of our challenges.
