The short-term easy leads to the long-term difficult, while the short-term difficult leads to the long-term easy.
There is a temptation to take the easy route and enjoy instant gratification, but we must remember that delayed gratification often carries the bigger reward. What is it that you need to pay the price now so you can enjoy the benefits later?
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. (Colossians 3:23-24)
