GCC PrayerWhat happens when a group of twenty-something’s gather together to discover what God wants to do in their lives?  God meets them in a powerful way!  (The picture you see are notes recording fears the students have laid at the foot of the cross and have prayed for God’s freedom from those fears.)  This past weekend I had the privilege of being with a group of young professionals (PhD. students, medical students, engineers, etc.) from Grace Covenant Church at a retreat center outside of Philadelphia (thank you for the invitation Kirt and Mei Lan ).  Specifically we explored how they could experience:

Purpose rather than confusion

Freedom rather than bondage

Meaningful relationships rather than superficiality

Healing rather than hurt

An abundant life rather than mediocrity

The worship team did an amazing job (thank you Chris and Chad).  A signature song this past weekend was “God’s great dance floor”.  The next morning after a great evening of worship (on God’s great dance floor) some of the people discovered muscles they did not know they had.  Our times of prayer were incredible as God broke through and drew people to Himself.  I never get tired of seeing God transforming lives!  Mark Batterson is correct when he says,

Change of Pace + Change of Place = Change of Perspective

When’s the last time you gathered with a group of people with the purpose of growing closer to God?

and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.  (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Take some time to be with others – you’ll be encouraged!
